Maejo The Home of Cowboys, Chiang Mai, Thailand. Mutual Relationship between Maejo University and Oklahoma State University has been a long time story. The OSU graudatees from Maejo are the main link our history. The exchangee student in 1965 was one of the part of the cowboy story. The Cowboys Life at Hollis L. 40th Anniversary of my dream comes true.

One day in southern California 1965 with Oren Robertson
and the agricultural extension agent. The FFT Maejo jacket was kept
at the Maejo Hall of Fame today.

In real life, we may found many problems and some of them are difficult to find the answers.We need cooperation and true mutual understanding to get the work done. It takes time to learn and to find the channel to accomplish what we desire.

The experiences from the past 40 years of communicating with different mind of people made my real life begins in 2000.

I was a few days in Oklahoma for a convention there.
I read about the OSU history and why the students preferred the Cowboy of Frank Eaton to be the mascot than tiger.

In my dreams while I was a kid. The cowboys are in my mind besides the Tarzan movies.
I appreciated those people who supported the trip forty years ago.

My dream comes true at the Hollis L. Warner Ranch! The cowboy in my dreams.

The cowboy life is working hard and keep time to finish the hard work.Sharp and clear. I appreciated the days I was with them. The cowboy movie was my favorite while I was young and also until today.

The work I trained from the Hollis L. Warner Ranch gave me the idea of how the west was won. They work hard in the shinny days. The young kids help the family so well. The kids are responsible for their woks and do the daily life on the ranch.

I still remember the range and the irrigation drainage way. The mountain and the gold mining well.

I dreamed to come to America while I was so young in the high school in 1958. The cowboy movie was my most favorite.My dreams come true when I joined the IFYE program in 1965.

I enjoyed life at the Hollis L. Warner Ranch even though I was in the hospital for 5 days due to my sick.I appreciate those people who made my dream comes true.

Maejo is the name the college where I gained the real life of living while I was studying the vocational agriculture for three years during 1961-3. We had a real cowboy teacher graduated from Texas.

We loved him and impressed with his cowboy dress and the spirit of responsibility. He then became our pioneer cowboy at the campus. He established the Future Farmers of Thailand (FFT) program in 1961.He guided the students to dream of America.

TheProf.Dr. Vipata B. Wangsai,the first president of Maejo University graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1959.
The other previous presidents, Suraphol Sanguansri, Saran Permpool also graduated from the OSU.
The currently president also an Ph.D. from OSU,
Dr. Thep Pongpanich.

The cowboy logo was adopted to be a spiritual symbol of the Maejo University students. The cowboy story was an expression of the Maejo graduates that they must be working hard, justice and having sincere spirit of honorable.

เคาบอย เป็นคำกล่าวที่รู้จักและจำมาจากหนังเคาบอยที่ดูจากหนังกลางแปลงโดยรถยนต์เคลื่อนที่ของบริษัทขายยาที่ไปฉายหนัง ตามหมู่บ้านในชนบทในสมัย พ.ศ. 2497-2500 ซึ่งส่วนมาก็้นหนังเคาบอยและทาร์ซาน ทำให้ได้มีโอกาสดุหนัง กลางแปลงบ่อยๆ พอโตขึ้นก็มีโอกาสไปดูหนังในเมือง ค่าดู ราว 2 บาท ก้เลยชอบและติดตามดูมาเรื่อยๆ เมื่อได้เห็นเรื่องราวของการเลี้ยงวัว เลี้ยงม้า จากหนังสือ เคาบอย เป็นสิ่งประทับใจ ในชีวิตกลางแจ้งและอยู่แบบ ง่ายๆ มีครัวในรถม้าเปิดประทุน ก่อไฟต้มกาแฟ ทำงานแต่เช้า จนมืด ต้อนวัวไปส่งตามที่มีผู้ว่าจ้าง นั่นคือความชอบในสมัยเด็กๆ เมื่อมีโอกาสไปเห้นชีวิตในฟาร์มเลี่ยงวัว ทั้งวัวเนื้อ วัวนม ก็เข้าใจขึ้นว่า งานต่างๆ ที่หนัก ๆ และรับผิดชอบนั้น เคาบอย ถือว่า เป็นแบบฉบับของการทำงานหนัก ตั้งแต่เช้า จรดมืด ต้องทำให้เสร็จ เพราะชีวิต และความเป็นอยู่ของสัตว์ที่เราเลี้ยงนั้น หมายถึง รายได้ ที่เราจะ เพิ่ม หรือ ลด ได้ จากการทำงานให้เสร็จ ตามกำหนด และการรับผิดชอบในงานที่ได้รับมอบ สำคัญมาก เพราะหากเราทำไม่เสร็จ คนอื่น ไม่มโอกาสมาทำแทนได้ เพราะทุกคน มีงานของตนเองที่รับผิดชอบอยู่แล้ว ที่ลำบากใจและไม่สบายใจก็คือ เมื่อต้องทำการฆ่าวัว ขายเนื้อ โดยใช้กระสุน ขนาด .22 ยิงที่ หน้าผากวัว แล้วชำแหละส่งตลาด เป็นงานที่ต้องทำใจอย่างมาก เพราะเห็นวัวล้มทั้งยืน เมื่อลั่นกระสุน อาทิตย์ละ 2 ตัว โดยทีมงานจากมืออาชีพ ที่นำส่งตลาดให้เสร็จ ซึ่งเป็นงานต่อเนื่อง เพราะนี่คือ รายได้ ของการทำฟาร์มวัวเนื้อ การให้อาหาร การต้อนวัว และตรวจฟาร์มนั้น ก็สนุกและตื่นเต้นดี เกือบทุกวัน

The Warner Ranch at Hickman is now changed to the orchard business. The kids grew up and individually live in separate farms.
However, I still think of the days I was with them.
The young men who were brothers at that time are grown up and love hunting in Africa. They sent me pictures of hunting they love.

This is a part of my life which will be with me forever.Hard work never kill anyone. will be used to those cowboys in the olden days.

I can not find the location of the ranch on the map. I lost contact with
those brothers. I wish some the three kids would read this
message and write to me some time.
If anyone in CA at Hickman know those brothers please let pass this message to them. Roger, Kurt and Bret the three Warner at Hickman.Good Luck to all.

Forty years to recall the old days at the Warner Ranch. I appreciate the IFYE program which made me had a wide range of what USA was in 1965. The gold rush years as I saw from the cowboy movies and the real gold mining site at the Warner ranch I saw. The young Kurt, an American brother, on the horse back to herd the cattle on the ranch. The day I walked alone to the the highway to the gas station and bought a coke can. The seller believed I was an Mexican boy. Not many Thai boys in southern CA at that time.
This is a part of my life where I enjoyed to learn what the earth gives to me.

Mr. C. Chen from Taiwan (former IFYE 1965) visited Sanguan's farm on July 18, 2005. He is the vegetable expert and has been working for the Taiwan's government for overseas program. Chen and Sanguan is a good friend in the IFYE program he visited Thailand a few times in the past 20 years.
Forty years between these two men was an mutual relationship since 1965 the first they met.
The world is so small today, Chen.

เป็นความใฝ่ฝันตั้งแต่สมัยเด็ก ม.2 ครับ เริ่มรู้จักคาวบอยจากหนังกลางแปลง และจากหนังโรงในเมืองก็เริ่มเกาะติดคาวบอยมาตลอด จำได้ว่าหากมีหนังคาวบอยมาฉายในโรงจะพยายามไปดูให้ได้แม้จะต้องเก็บเงินค่าดูครั้งละอย่างน้อย 3 บาท ดารารุ่นเก่าๆ Gary Cooper, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Mitchum, Jack Palance, Alan Ladd, Glen Ford, John Wayne, Elizabeth Taylor, Robert Taylor, James Dean, Chuck Cornor, Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Charles Bronson, Burt Lancaster, Grey Gorypeck, Richard Widmark, ก็พอนึกภาพดาราเหล่านั้นได้ ปัจจุบันก็รวบรวมซ๊ดี คาวบอยไว้มากพอสมควร นานๆก็เอาออกมาดูบ้าง หลังๆมามีแบบ ดีวีดี. เลือกฟังเสียงอังกฤษได้ก็ทำให้ดูสนุกมากกว่าหนังพากย์ มีหนังอีกเรื่องที่ชอบมากคือเรื่อง The Fastest Gun Alive จำได้ว่า Glen Ford แสดงเป็นคนขี้เมาทั้งที่มีอดีตเป็นมือปืนที่ชักปืนไวมาก ในที่สุดก็ต้องช่วยสังคมเพื่อปราบคนเกเรและดวลปืนกับเหล่าร้ายในที่สุด เคยหัดพากย์หนังเพราะเห็นนักพากย์ในสมัยนั้นเดินสายหนังทางอิสานกันมาก และพวกเราก็ติดดูหนังพากย์ไทย หนังจะมีคนดูมากหรือน้อยอยู่ที่คนพากย์ด้วย หากคนพากย์ดังๆ จะมีคนเข้าดูหนังมากไปด้วย จำได้ว่า นักพากย์ชื่อ "โกญจนาท" พากย์คนเดียว หนังบู้ จะมีคนดูมากเป็นพิเศษ มีเพื่อนคนหนึ่ง ไปหัดพากย์หนัง และมีอาชีพนี้อยู่นานกว่า 15 ปี ส่วนหนัง Tarzan นั้นชอบรองลงมาเพราะมีป่า มีเสียงโห่แบบทาร์ซาน ดูได้ทุกเรื่องขอให้มีทาร์ซานก็แล้วกัน หนังกลางแปลงตามงานวัด เดินไกลหน่อย ก็ไป คิดถึงเรื่องเก่าๆ สนุกดีครับ ผมไปอเมริกาครั้งแรก ปี 2508 กลับมาก็ซื้อปืนจริงๆ และปืนคาวยอย มาด้วย แต่ไม่มีเงินซื้อซองปืนคาวบอย มาได้โอกาสช่วงไปอีกครั้งในปี 2552 ได้สมใจครับ ซองปืน จาก นิวเจอร์ซี่ ร้านของลุงเท็กซ์ ที่สั่งมาจากตะวันตกจริงๆ สวยงามมาก ผมเห็นแล้ว ดีใจที่สุดที่ได้มาเก็บเป็นที่ระลึก ขอบคุณ คุณศักดา แวววารี รุ่น 31 ที่พาคณะไปที่ร้านนี้ครับ

เก็บไว้เป็นที่ระลึกครับ นอกเหนือจากTelescope, binocular and GPS device ที่ชอบและอยากได้มากๆ เมื่อสมัยเป็นเด็ก ปัจจุบันผมมีทุกอย่างแล้วครับ
